Client Focus
In March 2003, Standard Chartered Bank made a significant commitment to the project finance business with the establishment of a globally managed, Asian headquartered business integrated with the broader Corporate Finance business. The strategic decision to acquire ANZ's global project finance business in 2004 provided greater geographic coverage and deepened and diversified existing industry expertise.
Today, our team of over 60 professionals in 8 offices (Hong Kong, Singapore, London, New York, Dubai, Tokyo, Mumbai and Seoul) provides tailor made advisory services and financing solutions for clients in Asia, Middle East and Africa. Our professionals possess an extensive track record in debt arranging and financial advisory assignments covering pure project financings, government privatisations and acquisitions. We have developed in-depth industry expertise in power & utilities, oil & gas (full value chain), telecommunications, chemicals, mining & metals and renewable energy to add greater value for our clients. We also work closely with and engage the expertise and products of other financial divisions within Standard Chartered Bank to provide a hassle-free, comprehensive financial package.
Our Structured Export Finance business currently arranges structured export finance transactions with over 27 export credit and multilateral agencies including Sinosure from China, and KEIC and Kexim from Korea. Coverage is provided by dedicated export finance professionals located in New York, London, Mumbai, Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul. Our Structured Export Finance professionals in these locations have extensive relationships with suppliers in OECD and Asian markets, providing a link for Standard Chartered Bank's extensive network of clients in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
By providing our clients with a broad spectrum of services ranging from financial advisory, valuation and modeling, to structuring and underwriting of financing solutions, we aim to be the bank of choice for clients with project and export financing needs.

Our success is based on four pillars:
- Singular focus on our clients' needs in Asia, Middle East and Africa. This has led to numerous repeat mandates from our clients - an impressive accomplishment given the relatively short operating history of our business.
- Broad industry expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to marry project finance and M&A skill sets to redefine the "art of the possible".
- Commitment to providing capital and executing deals in a short time frame. Belief in our skills and industry experience drives us to be risk-takers.
